The article, “The Aging Face of HIV,” authored by Nilmarie Guzman, MD and Michael Sands, MD, MPH&TM and appearing in the Spring 2007 issue of Northeast Florida Medicine Journal, has been approved for 1.0 category 1 credit hour.

Faculty & Credentials:
Nilmarie Guzman, MD, MPH&TM, Infectious Diseases Division, Department of Medicine, University of Florida-Jacksonville and Duval County Health Department.  Michael Sands, MD, MPH&TM, Chief, Infectious Diseases Division, Associate Professor of Medicine, University of Florida-Jacksonville.

Target Audience: Physicians (M.D. and D.O.) needing credit for relicensure or initial licensure.

Objectives for CME Article

  1. Discuss the changing aging demographics of HIV/AIDS
  2. List at least two reasons for an increase in the numbers of elderly patients with HIV/AIDS.
  3. Discuss the change in life expectancy since the introduction of HAART therapy.

Date of Release: March 15, 2007 Date Credit Expires: March 15, 2009   Estimated time to complete: 1 hr.

Methods of Physician Participation in the Learning Process

  1. Read "The Aging Face of HIV article
  2. Complete the Post Test and Evaluation and submit to the DCMS

CME Credit Eligibility:
In order to receive full credit for this activity, a minimum passing grade of 70% must be achieved. Only one re-take opportunity will be granted if a passing score is not made on the first attempt. A certificate of credit/completion will be emailed, faxed or USPS mailed within 4-6 weeks of submission.
