H1N1 Update

It is being reported that approximately 10 percent of the expected doses of H1N1 vaccine have been received in Northeast Florida.  The Duval County Health Department is working to ensure that sufficient quantities are received as soon as possible to vaccinate our community in a timely fashion. To order vaccine, please continue to use the following information:

  1. Register with Florida Shots Online via  https://www.flshots.com/.  Number of doses will be approved by the local county health department and provided at no charge*.
  2. Requests for doses less than 100 can be ordered through the DCHD and picked-up locally by contacting Dr. Keecia King at: Keecia_King@doh.state.fl.us or 253-2461.

*Ancillary supplies (needles, syringes, sharps containers, alcohol pads) will be provided at no cost with the doses.

Please continue to visit DCMS Online's H1N1 "Readiness and Resources" page to receive up to date information regarding influenza preparedness and response.

Red Flag Rules Implementation Takes Effect November 1st!

Just a reminder that the deadline to comply with the Red Flag Rules is November 1!  Red Flag Rules require all financial institutions and creditors, including physician offices, to design and implement a compliance policy appropriate to their size and complexity. The Duval County Medical Society (DCMS) has developed a guidance document outlining the requirements of the red flag rule, as well as provided a sample policy prepared by the AMA.  It is critical that physicians and their office staff review and implement a policy prior to the November 1 deadline to ensure compliance.  To download the file, click here.
