UNF Healthcare Leadership Lecture

The UNF Brooks College of Health is hosting a Healthcare Leadership Lecture on Tuesday, November 6, at 6:30 PM at the UNF Robinson Theater.  The speaker will be Denis Cortese, MD, President & CEO of Mayo Clinic. Widely recognized at the national level for his outstanding leadership and managerial accomplishments, Dr. Denis Cortese currently chairs the Mayo Clinic Board of Governors.  From 1999-2002 he served as CEO of the Mayo Clinic Jacksonville and Chair of the Board of Directors at St. Luke’s Hospital.  A reception will be held at 6:00 PM.  There is no charge to attend, but pre-registration is encouraged by calling Gina at 543-0235.

 

ACHA Medicaid Provider Forum

The Agency for Health Care Administration invites local Medicaid providers to attend a provider forum in Jacksonville to discuss the Medicaid Reform demonstration project operating in our area.  Your feedback and suggestions are requested on the topics of:

·        Agency outreach prior to the implementation of Medicaid Reform,

·        Customer service provided by the Medicaid Reform health plans, and

·        Benefit packages provided to Medicaid beneficiaries under Reform. 

The provider forum will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2007, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, at the Wyndham Jacksonville Riverwalk – Anchor Room.

 

Share your Opinions in Northeast Florida Medicine

Editor-in-Chief Dr. Jack Kilkenny and the Editorial Board of Northeast Florida Medicine encourages all members to write editorials or letters to the editor, on topics of general interest to the medical community.  Submissions should be under 500 words, and they will be reviewed by the Editorial Board prior to publication.  Email editorials to Leora Legacy, Managing Editor, at llegacy@dcmsonline.org. Northeast Florida Medicine is YOUR journal and we welcome your thoughts, opinions, and ideas.

 

Participate on a DCMS Committee in 2008

Your Duval County Medical Society is in the process of forming the DCMS Committees for 2008 and would like to invite you to be a part of the process.  Please download and review the list of committees and let us know if you would like to serve as a member on one or more of the committees.  Just complete the second page of this form and fax to 353-5848, or send an e-mail to admin@dcmsonline.org by November 9.  We welcome your participation!

 

JSMP November Educational Program

The November Jacksonville Sports Medicine Program lecture will be held on Thursday, November 8, 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Nemours Children’s Clinic.  JSMP President and DCMS Vice President Stephen Lucie, MD will present the program on ACL Reconstruction & Rehabilitation.  Click here to download the flyer (PDF file).
