Medicare Reimbursement Cuts – Congress
Needs to Hear from YOU Now!
As you know Congress is currently considering legislation to
fix the flawed Medicare fee schedule. Since
the preliminary notice about the January 1, 2008 cuts came out this week, and
the final will be printed in the Federal Register later this month if
Congress does not take action, now is the time
to contact Congress. Congressmen/women
are saying that they have not heard from physicians. A sample
letter (in Word format) which you can adapt and personalize can be downloaded

Caring Community Conference –
Followup Forum
The Caring Community Conference was held on September 26 –
28, 2007. Over 100 community leaders met
to discuss our region’s health issues, identify our healthcare, medical, and
bioscience assets, and make recommendations to enhance the individual and economic
health of our region. As a followup to
this conference, a Public Forum will be held to discuss the recommendations and
next steps for our community. Yank D. Coble,
MD, Director of the Center for Global Health and Medical Diplomacy, and WJCT invite
you to the forum on Tuesday, November 27
at the WJCT studios. A reception
will be held from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, followed by the program from 7:00 – 8:30 PM,
which will be recorded for future broadcast. Seating is limited. Please
