DCMS Past-President to take part in Zika briefing for health care professionals

At the request of Governor Rick Scott, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will be conducting a third informational briefing on Zika Virus for Florida health care professionals on Friday, July 1 at 2pm EST.
This call will include a presentation from Dr. James Sejvar, who is a neurologist with the CDC, and Dr. Dana Meaney-Delman, an OB/GYN at Emory University Hospital, who leads the CDC's Zika Clinical Team.
Topics will include Guillain-Barre syndrome and other neurologic manifestations of Zika virus, as well as an update on Zika related microcephaly and other congenital presentations, plus new clinician tools in development.
Following the CDC's presentation, Dr. Mobeen Rathore, Chief of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Immunology Program at Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville, will provide Zika disease virus clinical challenges and feedback from pediatric clinicians in Florida.
