Red Flag rules - Q&A

As the May 1 deadline moves closer, the DCMS wants to ensure its members are prepared to comply with the Federal Trade Commission's Red Flag rules concerning identity theft.  Much information has been circulated by the DCMS (click  here for the Winter 2008 NEFM article), the FMA (click here for FMA article) and other guides to ensure compliance.  Still confused?  Send us an email (jmillson@dcmsonline.org) and the DCMS will research the appropriate answer to assist you and your staff.  More information will continue to be sent via the "News" prior to May 1.

Direct Payment for Services - Support Needed!

Senate Bill 1122 by Senator Gaetz, Assignment of Benefits, requires that managed care companies pay the physician directly for care provided rather than send the money directly to the patient.  Please contact your Senator TODAY using the link below and encourage your Senator to co-sponsor this important legislation.  Also tell your Senator to ask Chairman Garrett Richter to hear this bill in the next Senate Banking and Insurance Committee meeting.  Click the link below to log in and send your message:
