& Doctors' Day Celebration on April 7
In honor of Doctor’s Day, the
DCMS and DCMS Alliance invite you to a Town Hall Meeting & Celebration on Monday, April 7 from 6:00 - 8:30 PM at
the newly renovated Florida Museum of Medicine and Public Health. DCMS
President Dr. Glenn Knox, and FMA President Dr. Karl Altenburger, want to
discuss issues important to the local practice of medicine with you … our local
physicians. In celebration of Doctors' Day, a reception & tour of the

The
FMA was successful last week in passing its priority managed care legislation,
SB 1012 by Sen. Don Gaetz, out of the Senate Health Regulation Committee with
only one negative vote. The bill's next stop will be the Senate Health Policy
Committee tomorrow, April 1. For a summary of the FMA’s managed care bill, click here. Also last week, the PRN Sovereign Immunity bill was
unanimously passed out of committees in both the House and Senate. For a

Living With Grief: Children
and Adolescents, a Teleconference on April 16
This live
broadcast, sponsored by Community Hospice, the Hospice Foundation of America,
and Hardage-Giddens Funeral Homes, will provide an educational forum in which a
multidisciplinary panel of experts will focus on the experience of grieving
children and adolescents. Following the broadcast, a panel of local grief and
bereavement professionals will respond to the material and answer questions.

Variety Show, held on Saturday, March 29! An enthusiastic crowd enjoyed the talents of
local health care professionals performing in a wide variety of acts. Proceeds from
