DOH to hold web-based Zika briefing

On behalf of Governor Rick Scott and the Florida Department of Health, State Surgeon General and Secretary of Health, Celeste Philip MD, MPH, would like to invite you to attend an informational briefing entitled, “Zika Clinical Considerations for Obstetrics and Gynecology Practitioners: Updated Guidance.”
This web based briefing will be held on Thursday, October 27th at 6:00 p.m. EST and will
include presenters from our partners at the federal, state and local levels. Dr. Dana Meaney-Delman, MD, MPH, FACOG, from the CDC’s Office of the Director, National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases will provide an overview of CDC’s most current guidance on the Zika virus.
Following CDC’s presentation, Chris Curry MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital, will provide input from a local clinician’s perspective and Dr. Karen Harris, MD, MPH, Chair, The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, District XII (Florida), will provide a statewide perspective. Time will be allotted, after the presentations, for participant questions.

Follow up assessments and testing
