Life After Residency:

While young physicians are working hard every day learning to practice medicine, the most common request we hear is for education about what happens AFTER Residency. The Life After Residency program is a one day seminar that focuses on showing residents the best way to transition to life after their program ends. Topics include finding the perfect job, negotiating the perfect contract and managing student loan debt. This program is FREE for resident members of the DCMS. View a sampling of the presentations from our Life After Residency Seminar here:

"Oh My God-I Have to Get a Real Job Now" -Dr. Nitesh Paryani

"You Only Get Once Chance" -Dr. John Presutti

"MedMal. Because It Happens to Everyone" -Mr. Don Wood

Beers with Peers:

Beers with Peers is a fun social event for medical residents and fellows to enjoy time with their colleagues outside the office. Thanks to our gracious sponsors, residents can enjoy a few cold drinks, while networking and learning about the Duval County Medical Society. Beers with Peers events is held throughout the year so stay tuned for our next event!

Poster Presentations at Future of Healthcare Conference and DCMS Annual Meeting:

Twice a year, the DCMS offers opportunities for residents and fellows to present their research. The poster sessions take place at the Future of Healthcare Conference in May and the DCMS Annual Meeting & Inaugural Ball in December. Poster presentations are judged and awards are given to the physicians with the highest scores. This is a great opportunity for residents and fellows to showcase their research on a local level in the Northeast Florida medical community.
