Memorial Hospital & Orange Park Medical Center Receiving Patients from
HCA Healthcare Sister Facilities in Advance of Hurricane Florence
On Monday, South Carolina Governor McMaster ordered the medical evacuation of all hospitals in flood zones in Myrtle Beach, SC. In compliance with that order and for the safety of its patients, Grand Strand Health has begun transferring patients to its sister HCA Healthcare hospitals, including Memorial Hospital and Orange Park Medical Center.
“Our HCA Healthcare teams train and prepare to be able to assist in situations just like this,” said Memorial Hospital Chief Medical Officer Dr. John Lazenby. “Our Trauma and clinical teams are here for our South Carolina patients.”
Dr. Joe Parra, Chief Medical Officer of Orange Park Medical Center, said, “We will do everything possible to support these patients and their families to heal and recover safely away from the threat of Hurricane Florence.”
The hospitals have currently received 13 patients and will send periodic updates throughout the coming days.
