Fraser Cobbe, DCMS Executive Director:
Fraser Cobbe, a Political Science major from Florida State University, currently serves as President of Cobbe Consulting
& Management, an Association Management Company that specializes in managing physician organizations. Fraser has served as Executive Director of the Florida Orthopaedic Society (FOS) since 2001. In
2007, Fraser formed Cobbe Consulting & Management which currently represents the following organizations in addition to the FOS: Duval County Medical Society; Dade County Medical Association; Physicians Society of Central Florida;
Bones Society of Florida; Florida Orthopaedic Risk Purchasing Group; Florida Society of Nephrology; Georgia Association of Orthopaedic Executives; Bones of PA, Inc.; Midwest AAOE; and the South Carolina Orthopaedic Association.
Fraser began his career on the staff of the Florida Medical Association (FMA) and has served on the Board of Directors of the FMA as well as the FMA Political Action Committee. He served on the Board of Directors
for the Conference of Florida Medical Society Executives from 2008 until 2018. He also served as an At-Large Member of the Board of Directors of the American Association of Medical Society Executives from 2015-2017.
Marissa Saftner, Managing Director:
Marissa Saftner started her career with the DCMS as an intern and then was hired on as the County Medical Society Coordinator in January 2016. She was later promoted to Executive Assistant, and moved up to Managing Director in January 2020.
Marissa graduated from the University of North Florida with a Bachelor's degree in Health Administration.
When she's not working, Marissa is usually relaxing at the beach or cheering on the Chicago Cubs. She is also a dog lover and loves spending time with her basset hound, Spencer. Marissa also enjoys trying new Jacksonville restaurants and breweries.
Sallie Baumann, Meetings and Sponsorship Manager:
Sallie Baumann joined the DCMS in April 2017 as the Meetings and Sponsorship Manager. She has vast experience in meeting management and in the medical field. Sallie has previously served in roles as the Convention and Events Director for Independent Medical Co-op, Inc., Office and Event Sales Manager for Destination Planning Corporation, Business Manager for Center Stage Music & Events, Inc., Recreation Manager for Sawgrass Marriott Resort, and Special Projects Coordinator at University of Florida Health Science Center.
Sallie earned her Bachelor of Science from Troy University, where she majored in English and minored in Creative Writing and Business Administration.
Kristy Williford, Communications Manager:
Kristy Williford serves as Communications Manager. She's responsible for managing the design and content of the website, social media, e-newsletters, and print publications of the DCMS. She also coordinates medical interviews between DCMS physician members and media representatives, as well as organizing the annual DCMS Leadership Academy.
Kristy originally joined the DCMS in December 2014, but left for a brief stint in 2019 to serve as Deputy Public Affairs Officer at Naval Hospital Jacksonville. Previously, Kristy was a television news reporter for more than eight years at TV stations in San Diego, Tampa/St. Petersburg, and Jacksonville.
When she's not working, Kristy and her husband are often traveling the world and documenting their adventures on their travel blog. Kristy is a graduate of the University of Florida.
Shelly Hakes, Membership Manager:
Shelly Hakes joined the DCMS team in February 2020 as Membership Manager. Her focus in is on membership recruitment and retention and Shelly will be responsible for membership benefit programs, membership renewals, and establishing key relationships with medical practices and health systems in our community.
Shelly started her career with FPIC, the largest medical malpractice company in Florida at that time, which was later acquired by The Doctors Company. She has spent over 20 years working with physician practices as well as county, specialty, and state medical associations focusing on Organized Medicine. She has been a licensed insurance broker in the state of Florida since 2001 specializing in Medical Professional Liability.
Outside the office, Shelly enjoys spending time at home with a book in hand or at the beach with her dogs. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Florida and a Masters of Business Administration from Jacksonville University.
