Objectives:
1. Competence: At the end of the course, learners will be able to understand the epidemiology of
domestic violence and its impact on healthcare.
2. Performance: At the end of the course, learners will be able to screen for potential victims and
potential perpetrators of domestic violence.
3. Patient Outcomes: At the end of the course, learners will be able to provide patients with
resources in the local community, such as domestic violence centers and other advocacy groups
that provide legal aid, shelter, victim counseling, or child protection services. They will also know
their legal obligations regarding victims of domestic violence.
